The rear axle & leaf springs. The front subframe/suspension/driveline.

Kinja'd!!!

But first the heavy ass doors.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

I made a quick and easy roll- able pallet for them, and to attach the engine and trans to, so they’re mobile. Used the casters off my engine stands/car rotisserie and a free pallet from work.

I sucked out the rest of the loose rusticles, and left the interior open to the elements. There’s nothing left in there anyways. Let it get wet.

OH SHIT I FORGOT SOMETHING

Kinja'd!!!

Once I pull the back window, rear end, and separate the front subframe from what’s left I can start hacking it apart and hauling it off for scrap.

Gotta get that done before the snow flies...

Wow, you’ve got that one sufficiently stripped. Are you using most of what you stripped, or is that primarily spares?

How much d o the doors sag? When I was fixing up the 81 Camaro I had, I replaced the hinges with a new GM set. Made a world of difference and aligned the door much better. They were kind of expensive IIRC, but wor th it.

A few things I was able to spare for my car, mostly the HVAC and dash parts. The doors hinges LOOK better than any of the spares I got. I need to go through them and see which ones are best when I hang the complete doors on my Trans Am. Its been so long and I only had the empty doors on it once so I don’t remember how much play they had.

That reminds me, I need to snag the strikers off the parts car.

On the Esprit I couldn’t tell if it was the doors sagging, or the body.

Did the parts car have the same t-tops as your Trans Am? I know there were at least two different sets of T-tops on these cars, but I can’t remember when that changed.

Given the look of the floor of the Esprit, I’d imagine it was a little of both the body and the doors that created the sag.

Nah, my TA is a hardtop. I sold the t-tops off first thing to make up for some of the purchase price of the whole car .

The driver’s door sagged a little when opening, the passenger side made the whole rocker and firewall sag so much I had to put blocks under what was left of it.

I suspect it won’t take much to turn that into a front and rear half-car. Well done! I’ve always thought it would be enjoyable to completely dismantle a car.

It has been rather enjoyable. Not only to save parts I need, but also to see how it comes apart (to put mine back together) and game plan how to make improvements and modifications .
