It started as a classic high-side: A smidgen too much throttle at lean causes the rear to slide, rider chops the throttle, rear tire grips, all that energy of the moving / leaning bike hitting the tire with grip causes the bike to rotate upright and fling the rider into the air. The difference here is that the rider never let go of the handlebars, and landed on their feet on the side.
Most likely, it happened so fast that he blacked out for an instant and came to after the “crash” was over without realizing WTF he did or how he got there . That’s been my experience crashing bikes at speed anyways.
Give major credit to the riders immediately behind for avoiding rather than ass-packing Marquez as well .
