It was a Marina that BL gave to Italdesign to redesign, possibly as an extremely cruel joke. It was subsequently replaced by the Austin Montego in 1984 and the Morris brand was discontinued along with it, and the Ital has quietly faded even deeper into a state of obscurity than it originally was in, while the Marina is infamous for how terrible it was .
