Looks vaguely familiar.  Is this Nanaimo?

Seeing phone booths is so strange. There were a handful when I was in Tokyo, and almost nothing else on that trip stopped me in my tracks so quickly

The scariest vehicle you will ever drive is one of those airport tugs. Brakes are the equivalent of a strongly worded letter to the laws of physics.

OK. Yeah, I did take the ferry from there. The mind is going it seems. For some reason Nanaimo came to mind and when you mentioned Swartz Bay, I went to the map and found that was the place.

We had driven up from Seattle into Canada and taken the ferry to Vancouver Island and spent a couple days in Victoria. I mostly remember that we were in line at the Swartz Bay ferry terminal when nature called. I ran into the building with the Lands End cafe awning to take care of it, and then my wife starts calling on the cell phone that the cars were moving onto the ferry. I finished up as fast as I could and ran out to the honks and gestures of the people in line behind me. How embarrassing! The Telus phone booths and the awning over the walk are what I recalled best. Jeez, this was around 2008. It’s been awhile and the phones are still there.

Oh man, that’s basically my nightmare when I’m at the f erries. I’ve cut it really close with going to the bathroom before cars started to load, but I’ve luckily not been that close. Yesterday there were two cars that wouldn’t start once we got back to Vancouver, which is the other thing I don’t want to happen to me on a ferry.
