There are about four or five parking spaces in a row with signs that read “For Cars Only — No Vans, Trucks, or SUVs.” Karen didn’t give a shit, she wanted to speak to the manager.

Bonus Royal Farms content: sugar colors.

Kinja'd!!!

“Green sugar”, “yellow sugar”, sugar, “pink sugar”. Another tub on the right had “blue sugar”.

I got trapped in a parking space at a Royal Farms  for almost half an hour one time, because some guy towing a boat to the beaches decided to pull into the spot next to me, completely forgetting he had a trailer behind him - it was swung over about 90 degrees, amazing he didn’t hit me. No one in the store would own up to it being theirs, eventually he came out with an embarrassed expression and said he never towed a trailer before and forgot he couldn’t just pull into a normal spot with it. Must have been in the bathroom the whole time.

Those spots are suburban sized. I would probably park there just to defy the sign.

I would’ve unhitched the boat and left it there for Mr. Oblivious McBoattrailer to deal with.

Those marked spaces are narrower than the rest. A Suburban would be very likely to hit the cars next to it with its doors if parked there. This Yukon was riding the line to its right, too.

If he never towed before, how many tries did it take for him to reverse out of the spot??

Parked within the lines, though.

He got out pretty quick, but probably not in the direction he wanted to go.

Spots like that are marked so the clerk s can see the pumps.

It’s sad that m y first instinct is to think “meh, plenty of room”. I’m afraid I’ve been conditioned to also think that this space is “Suburban-sized”. I guess I’ve grown all too accustomed to having to deal with parking lots that were designed to maximize capacity. It’s like nobody designs spots with wiggle room any more... in my area, at least.

FOR CARS ONLY
NO VANS TRUCKS, or SUV’ S

The grammar hurts my brain. No comma between VANS and TRUCKS ? W hat’s a “vans truck”, then ? Why the apostrophe in   SUV’S making the second S possessive ? And since “or” is in lower-case, w hy not use lower-case in “for” as well? Heck, if they really wanted a possessive S in SUV’S , maybe the latter S should be lower-case, too. Either capitalize everything, or be more selective about which words ought to be capitalized for emphasis.

Like this:

For CARS ONLY
NO VANS, TRUCKS, or SUVs

A Vans truck.

Kinja'd!!!

The apostrophe to pluralize words is one of my biggest pet peeves. I guess it has uses sometimes but so many people use it for every plural, it’s crazy.
