The truck does, what did you think I was referring to?
Alignment is fine. Brake caliper is dragging apparently. I know because I just burned my fingertip on the rotor. Balance was done and will be paid for by CustomWheelOffsets due to their bad batch of weight stickies. I’m guess it managed to seize up during the weeks I was working on the suspension and didn’t notice it during my test drive (low speeds).
Option A: all new calipers, rotors, pads courtesy of Ford (front only) for $1300.
Option B: $9 pin guide and bolt + $9 brakes boots
Option C: Option B + new rotors and pads ~$250 best powerstop deal I’ve found.
Im probably going option B just for convenience sake and I just want to drive the damned thing finally.
This post may have been a flagrant excuse to post pictures of her.

So, as a fellow superduty supercab owner, did you get the broken spot weld issue at the bottom of either of your rear doors?
I just fixed it on my driver’s side. It was causing an amazing amount of rattling. Drilled out the weld and put a bolt with a couple of locking washers through it with a nylock nut on the otherside.

How are new calipers, pads, and rotors $1300?!!
That’s insane.

$1300 an axle for brakes? Damn, Ford.

See my recent post on Cardone calipers and don’t get those. They just pick whatever they have lying around, clean it up a bit and pop it in a box. I didn’t have any seizing or dragging , but at 140k was doing preventive maintenance . during a pad and rotor change. See if Ford has a caliper rebuild kit so you have OEM seals and use OEM pistons. How many pistons are each caliper? Front calipers are easy to rebuild. Rear ones with self adjusters are a little more involved but easily doable.

I just went thru this on my truck. If one is bad, the rest aren’t far behind.
Order 4 new calipers & pads from RockAuto, install yourself. Should be able to get all for < $500. Don’t forget to get a bottle or two of brake fluid from the auto parts store & flush that out.

Second this. I went through like 5 or 6 cardone calipers on my Miata. They were replaced for free via warranty but damn having to replace a caliper EVERY time the brake pads are replaced is a pain in the ass plus waiting for shipping. Plus my ebrake did not work during any of that time due to said calipers always failing or being on the way toward failing. Just garbage.

Haven’t heard any rattling you speak of but I’ll double check it the next time I’m looking at it.
Can you snag some pics of the spot and fix at your convenience too?

This is like, lil-bro dozer at best , it’s nowhere near peak bro dozer. He’s missing stack exhaust , LED search lights, off-road graphics, his fender flares are too small, and as far as I can tell hes short on NRA/MAGA/Salt Life/Thin Blue Line stickers.

2 piston per. If I'm feeling froggy I'll pick up a repair kit from O'Reilly's and tackle it while I'm in there.

Just put some grease between the pad and rotor. That’ll take care of any friction.

Check out some of the YouTube videos that show the easiest way to get the dust boot on. Very easy once you know the trick.

Considering I've done the pads on them before and that's 90% of the labor. The rotor just falls off if it's not seized on then all the new stuff goes on. Gasp, bleeding the brakes?! Surely that must take hours. Surely.

I spend more time taking the wheels off and jacking up and securing the car than changing pads and rotors. That also includes greasing the slider pins. I just get a kid for bleeding. Have them sit in the seat and pump the brakes until it’s all fluid and no bubbles.

Oh they're not. Had it in for an alignment due to pulling left and they deemed it was the caliper. I told em nah, I'll take care of it myself.

So that little spot weld is what keeps the inner and outer door shells held together. So yeah, broken weld = lots of rattling over rough roads. And because it’s the inner shell of the whole door, it would shake the entire damn cab.
