There was a time when they put these bus chassis on rail frames and used them as passenger cars. I don’t think it lasted long or was a good solution.

Having grown up in the DC area, these are what busses should look like to me.

I failed at finding the streetscape though, it’s a Seattle/King County Metro Transit bus, but that covers a pretty big range of possible locations, many of which have seen tons of development. The tower thing in the background strikes me as a modern church steeple, but a quick image search for Seattle area churches didn’t give me any matches.
