Zoom in far enough and you can see me freaking out because I just took off for the first time.

My landing was SHITE.

All I can see in that picture are the power lines.  Probably miles away, but still way too close for me.

Fantastic!  On the landing,  isn't there an old saying "any landing you can walk away from is a good landing"?

They’re not miles away, but they’re far enough away that you can safely climb above them long before you get to them.

T hey do indeed say that. I couldn’t walk away immediately, but once I got the machine off the top of me I could :)

I rolled it on landing. It was pretty terrible.

Oye!  That sounds a little on the code brown side, although, is there enough frame that you're just along for the ride as opposed to making contact in a roll like that?

There is enough structure to keep your head from being the crumple zone. The cage over the prop and the roll bars do the trick. The machine I’m flying doesn’t have the instrument pod. You definitely want to tuck everything in when you know you’re going over. Once I realized I was merely a passenger, I crossed my arms over my chest and put my head down. The worst I got was a little itchy from the grass I rolled in.

Wow I’ve skydived but that's a whole different kind of crazy.
