Let me start out by saying that I’m not a fan of pricey pretentious shoes. I buy shoes based on how durable and utilitarian they are on my feet , and keep a few pairs around for dress occasions. I tend to wear one pair out and then buy another pair. When I do buy a pair that’s over 60 bucks, it’s because I trust the brand and already know they last a long time.

But I’m so pleased with the set I have right now that I thought I’d share.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

There aren’t a lot of shoe design v ariatio ns. There aren’t a lot of colours, and most of them are way above my usual shoe budget.

But these are literally the most relaxing, comfortable casual shoes I’ve ever tried. I thought these were a gimmick at first, but I did some digging around and they were on sale at Zappos, so I thought I’d give them a try.

The heels have a flexible brace so when you press on them, they pop back up. The laces are built in and adjustable but the default settings worked well for me. The insoles are comfier and more supportive than anything I’ve tried from Dr Scholls. This shoe doesn’t require a break in, and every other shoe I’ve ever owned has needed a break in.

I’m not even a fan of brown shoes, but I’ve literally walked everywhere in this. I may lose weight from the extra walking. I suggest you check them out.

Disclaimer: I get no money from you buy anything so buy whatever you want, but I’ve never owned a pair of shoes better. I also have a pair of “Indestructible” Shoes coming in that I will also share info about later.

I’m just looking for gray and black canvas skates that aren’t pieces of shit.

I can’t help you with canvas, but the best skate shoes I’ve owned are Etnies Maranas, or any Etnies with the Michelin souls really. I like the first pair I went out and bought a second when the first ones wore out

Those look nice. I can't think of the last time I bought sneakers. My money goes to running shoes. When they start to get too worn for running, they're sneakers. When they're too worn for sneaker duty, yard work shoes. Its a circle of life.

What are those.

And no, I’m not making a 4-year-old joke. I’m dead serious. What the fuck are  those.

I’m on my feet 24/7, and lift weights throughout the day. I also ride motorcycles on a daily basis which beats up shoes, and backpack through the desert on occasion . Good footwear costs money, but there is a lot of expensive crap out there. I’ve been wearing Sambas and leather toed Vans as dailies for a decade or so and Merrell s for backpacking. Built in laces would be a deal killed for me.

I wouldn’t take these hiking or doing anything heavy duty. There are better shoes for that, this is just for walking around town. What’s wrong with built in laces?

Having to trash the shoe if I tore a lace would be a problem for me.  My everyday shoes see heavy duty use so durability is a must. I even stopped wearing Vans for a while as I kept tearing through toes (from shifting on a motorcycle), but they started putting capped and leather toes on their shoes so I went back to them. Leather Sambas are by far the most durable shoes I’ve ever owned. I can go years on a pair.

Oh, I see. My shoes typically last about 3-4 years. Only time will tell what happens to these.

Have you tried New Balance Numeric ? I don’t know for sure that they make a canvas skate, but they make great shoes in general.

You don’t like em? I wasn’t sold on em until I tried em. But I don’t need to show off or impress anybody, and I don’t like New Balances.

To be fair I’m not like a massive fan of the aesthetic but I tend to avoid excessive frippery on my shoes or anything that looks like it belongs on a basketball player. I tend to go for unobtrusive fewer seam designs
