They put on a Hell of a Show that is for sure. This is the 1st I’ve heard of one of them going down.

Thankfully the pilot ejected safely and nobody else was hurt.

Glad he ejected and the plane seems to have hit an empty area.
The Snowbirds are awesome - they’re a very different show than the Blue Angels or Thunderbirds but more fun to watch in some ways.

Yeah and the show is in its 2nd year at that location an earlier location for he plane would have had a good chance of hitting some houses. The race track is in the middle of nowhere

You know it’s Fall in Arizona when Canadian snowbirds start crashing their cars around town.

The planes they use are more suited for air show demonstrations than the fighters in my opinion. The he thunderbirds and blue angels you blink and you miss it the snowbirds a slower so your brain has time to process

The Snowbirds look a lot more graceful, and you get a better sense of how they manage potential and kinetic energy thanks to the lower air speeds.
As an added bonus, they’re a lot quieter.
Some of the aerobatics I’ve enjoyed the most were in slow airplanes - notably a Bucker Jungmeister and a Bonanza. And of course Bob Hoover in his Shrike Commander.

Kyle Franklin in his Piper Cub was some of the best aerobatics I’ve seen
