What do you think is a fair price for a leftover, new 2018 TourX Essence? I helped my parent s buy an 18 this past summer for about $29k. Seems like an 18 now would be less than that, but how much? A used 18 TourX with ultra low miles has a retail of about $26k - seems like that would be in range.

The local-ish Alfa dealer has a new 2018 4C on the lot for about $20k off, so if we apply that logic it should be pretty damn cheap you should get an alfa instead.

When I first saw the Insignia , I thought it would sell very well. It’s good looking has a large enough boot, etc... Thing is, I hardly ever see them*, the Sports Tourer or Country Tourer.

*I say that and look outside the living room window to see a Vauxhall Sports Tourer. Doh.

I did see those newer models, the stations, a lot in Germany last June. But yeah, don’t see a lot of them here in Holland either.

I expected to see loads of them on the roads, especially after seeing so many of the previous gen which wasn’t anywhere near as good looking.

Alfa doesn’t make cars. T hey make art that occasionally moves under it s own power.

My coworker bought an essence dealer demo with 4k miles 6 months ago for $26k. A little less than that should be reasonable.

E ach year I become more convinced people just don’t appreciate attractive cars.

They’d buy a bucket of mud if it had a Toyota Camry badge and five year warranty. Sit a gold bar next to it with a Buick  badge and the same price? It’ll be there until the end of time.

I’m not particularly familiar with the trim levels but around June, our local dealer had several attractive TourX wagons, new, but older stock, going for 24-25k. Despite a decent motor, AWD, a great design, and capability, they just weren’t moving compared to the GMC Acadias sitting next to them.

For the like s of us (not n ormal human beings), the only gripes I heard are that the transmission is a confused mess, like most- all 8+ speeds, and some say the seats aren’t as comfy as one might expect.

T heir prices are back up now, but I see that as temporary. I want other things so much more, but I can’t help but feel bad for these things. They deserve more love than they get, and if my wife were to pa rt with her Tahoe (she won’t), it'd be hard to ignore the value of these and not want to rescue one while still possible to do so.

My friend is attempting to get a dealer to go down to $ 24k on a 2018 with 19k miles.

What bugs me on the U.S. side is people saying, ‘It’s a Buick’, while either saying in the next sentence if not already stated that it’s a rebadged Vauxhall/Opel Insignia. How can people be so moronic.

part of the problem in the states , is the only engine option is the 2.0 petrol turbo with awd, leather and (compared to the insignia) every option thrown in. when I was looking at the end of 2017, I liked the design and that it was a wagon, bu the awd hurt the highway mileage (which I do a lot) and I couldn’t justify.

We get a larger range of engines here. Yes, but still hardly any cars on the road.

Kinja'd!!!

Looking at the Vauxhall site, they don’t even have the Sports Tourer or Country Tourer available to order (still on the German site).

The only estate on the site being the Astra Sports Tourer.

I don’t think that is much of a secret to the Jalops, but I doubt many shopping cars stateside know this detail. Most people I’ve talked to have never heard of Ppel/Vauxhall/Holden.

It’s like GM want to fail in their cars.

The Vauxhall Mokka/Buick Encore is doing well in the U.S. while in the U.K. like the Ford Ecosport, not doing too well.

My butt feels like the s eats are way too hard and uncomfortable.

And the drivetrain in the U.S. spec models seems wonky to drive. There is a beautiful red one on my way home I lust for but driving a few at work I understand why it sits on the used car lot for over 4 months now.

I’ve only driven one a short distance, but found the seats comfy in that short time. If I get serious, I’ll take it for a longer test drive. I don’t want/need it to be fast or sporty, but do need it to be comfortable.

Seems like that should be doable. Maybe a bit less with those miles.

he mokka/encore is made in south korea for the US market. IF i recall part of the reason of the tourx was A) primary wagon sales are in europe and B) they were using it to sell a vehicle to the US market to meet certain demands by german workers .

its on the same shared platform as the malibu and lacrosse (made in michigan). hense why they would assume was from there vs shipping from europe.
