It’s for paramotoring. I just like safety yellow.

I had no idea that you do this. I’ve seen a bunch of the videos and I think I’d like to give it a shot.

It’s a recent development. I’ve always wanted to fly and paramotoring is the least unaffordable way to get up in the air. It’s probably around $20/hour in consumables and maintenance, which ain’t bad. Renting a 40 year old Cessna in the Austin area is $100/hr, and $135/hour for slightly more modern equipment.

Now that I have my pilot certificate, my flying has slowed considerably. As you say, getting into the air is expensive and I either need to get my own wings or make more money to increase my monthly flying budget. I’ve had fleeting thoughts about a paramotor, but I keep getting swayed by things that can go cross-country and can take passengers. My wife may have something to do with that...

If you’ve got your ticket, there’s no reason you can’t ALSO learn to p aramotor. You can scratch the flight itch by hanging under a wing with a weed whacker behind you   and then if you’ve got somewhere to be, rent the big plane!
