I was reading this and the enormous 5,800 lb Navigator with 450 HP gets 18 mpg combined.
My STI has a lifetime mileage of... 18.8 mpg! Sad trombone.
At least it rumbles, though. I guess that's enough. Right?

given the low end torque they might be able to get by with a 7speed

There was a time when I was thinking “I’ll just get an STI when they put a new motor in it”. I think I’ve managed to outlive that phase of my life - that’s how long that motor has been soldering on. Next year, there will people able to legally drink who are the same age as the EJ25.

yeah - and the new 2.4 won’t rumble, (modern headers.) But gosh darn it - they better make that motor nice... they have had half a billion years to do it.

I explicitly bought mine when I did because I knew the window of time that I'd tolerate a car like that was closing. I still like it so far...
