Hanger steak, beer batter onion rings, chips and peppercorn sauce.

At least dinner is good. I’m making home made chips tonight.

Nice. Any salt and vinegar?

I always appreciated the British approach to vegetables

Ye’, we mash them, we bake them, we roast them and we fry them, shallow and deep.

Salt yes. No vinegar as I am allergic to malt vinegar. Sauce will depend on my mood at 6pm toni
ght.

Allergic to malt vinegar. I’ve never heard that one before.
I hope it’s not as restrictive as it sounds.
I was born coeliac but have been in remission for 20+ years.

I thought the answer to everything there is fish & chips? Or were those horribly burnt fish? ;)

Nah, there’s much more than fish and chips (with mushy peas).
Chicken tikka masala for a start. Lol.

The way you lined up those chips is interesting...

Yeah that is it. My coeliac is really bad / extremely sensitive to trace amounts of gluten.

Ouch, my sympathies.
Being coeliac is much easier than when I was a kid (well it is in the U.K.).
But still, it's very hard. Apps and dietician assistance are a great help.

Really. Do you like Jenga.

Oh I’d do some bad things for a genuine Brit tikka masala. Although they do serve it in Indian places here. I’m prepping for a culinary tour of the UK next year or two! (If there is a UK left to visit.)

Well we’ve made it through the Romans, Normans, Vikings, Anglo Saxons, two world wars, etc... We are a resilient bunch.
Brexit for all it’s chaos is a 44 year old marriage that went south. Is it messy, is it frustrating, is it scary and daunting, yes, yes and yes but it’s a divorce. Divorces are rarely amicable cut and dry affairs .
We’ve just got to get through it, and find our feet again and move on, for better or worse.

That’s even more interesting. Mushrooms on the side?
Are you on one of those photographing all your food and posting it diets?

Garlic mushrooms.
No, I photo the food because on here when talking about food, if there is a picture that goes with it, it’s easier to ask and answer questions about, it adds context .
Certain foods here aren’t common elsewhere or appreciated as much such as back bacon, baked beans, black pudding, doner kebabs, etc...
I like food that looks good as well as tastes good. For years I threw stuff together, then I started taking more time with it, making it into a rich flavourful experience rather than something to through down my neck for sustenance, then made started making effort on it’s appearance rather then slopping it on a plate.

G arlic mushrooms on the side is the way to go, (in my humble opinion.) And maybe a side of creamed spinach. And 1 or 5 dirty martinis.

I’m not a fan of spinach. But creamed cabbage is nice.
Creamed savoy cabbage and spring greens.
Also the garlic mushrooms go well with pork med allions topped with one inch square scrunched filo pastry pieces .
Oh and smashed potato topped with cheese.

Im going to be super sad if/when the Queen dies . I’ve seen so many Brit panel shows I feel like I have an emotional interest. Stephen Fry has so many stories about her.

I know I’ll be sad. Nee, I’ll be an emotional wreck.
