While I may be biased in this area as a fellow fat, I lean on the side of body-shaming him being bad. I get the appeal - he mocks people for their appearance all the time, so he should be fair game - but, eh, it just feels like sinking to his level to me.

Rumor is he gets expensive custom tailored suits, but they look bad because, 1. he doesn’t have the patience to be measured, and 2. he demands them baggy because he thinks it hides his weight better, which seems unlikely; a rarity in the world of fashion where being slim is often the most important thing , but a well-tailored suit can flatter even a fat man.

The double standard(s) with this guy fascinate(s) me. His defenders swoop in like the giant eagles in LOTR when any of us examine him in the way he so commonly analyzes others, which takes place in our exhaustion from his inappropriate s**tshow that goes on daily from behind the presidential seal. What got me onto Jezebel was a piece on Jalopnik about how women car writers get they special sort of hate reserved for females of the species. I’ve ignored the FP for long enough that I did not realize that many of the writers there are women.

Very disturbing, it was. I’ve been curious about Stef from the beginning of my time here. She seems so genuine. One of the Ops, a guy who I’ve struck up a relationship with off the board, met Stef at a track event and told me she’s a great person. But from a couple levels up, I find Jezebel interesting because in between people firing SWMs — sidewinder woke missiles — at each other, you have, interspersed, folks really attempting to unpack some stuff that needs unpacking.

So keeping the podcast in mind, is it an affront to see that a car column is written on Jalo and take an interest in it particularly because it’s written by a woma n? Is it an affront to want a woman’s perspective for a change?

I’d been ignoring the FP because I felt the writing was poor and generally vulgar. Not what I’ve come to realize that so many women are writing there, I’ll take more of an interest. SWM inbound?

There was a thing in the news a couple years ago where some women were protesting something, I think it was an environmental thing, where they did the protest topless, confronted the government officials topless. This really got me to thinking: what a brilliant strategy. Here: I’ll take off my shirt so we can get that part of the equation out of the way and discuss the issues. Brilliant, but sad about the necessity.
