No mods to the new van. Is what I promised my wife when we bought it in July. So far other than the Bad Wolf sticker, I’ve kept my word.
Headlight upgrades don’t count right?
6k Leds in the low beams, 6k Leds in the high beams, 3k Leds in the fogs.
Thanks to my housing design, they direct the light properly and keep them from glaring for oncoming traffic. So far I love them.

Did you alter the housings? I’ve thought about getting LED yellow fogs for my car as I do have yellow halogens for them but they are not bright...was hoping the LEDs would give a little better light!
Where did you get yours from?

I did not alter housings. My low beams have the little cone for directing light, so that keeps them from glaring. The fogs are mounted low enough they don’t bother, especially in yellow. The high beams are “fuck your retinas” bright, but no one will see them anyway besides me and the asshat who can’t dim his lights.
The LEDs are just plug and plays off Amazon, Beamtech I believe they were.

I don't consider headlight bulb replacement to be a mod, so you're in the clear. Upgrading a part that regularly has to be replaced anyway doesn't feel like a mod to me. If your tires need to be replaced, and you decide to get slightly nicer tires on the same wheels, is that a mod? I say no.

LED headlight bulbs are illegal here I believe, but they let LED tail-light/foglight, etc bulbs slide
. I have Philips Vision LED brake/taillights in my car as well as Philips LED rev
erse lights and side repeater bulbs.
I wouldn’t mind getting some Philips LED turn signals as well, but trying to get to the relay on my car to change it to an LED-compatible relay (so they would
n’t flash super-fast)
is a PITA.

To me, no that isn't a "mod" but I think everyone can have their own idea of what is and isn't a mod. Tires are a consumable, and if it were me I'd be more likely to say "I upgraded my tires" than to call tire replacement a mod. But it's just semantics.

Yeah I think any safety equipment doesn’t count as a mod. So, headlights, Roll cage, fire suppression system, race seat and harness, HANS device, and tow hook are all ok.

To me this is an interesting question, as I would like to agree that replacing parts with upgrades isn’t a mod, but I would also consider a car with stiffer springs and struts and stickier tires than available from the factory as modified

It’s all just a matter of degree. Let’s side aside the word “mod” for a bit and consider another word: custom. What makes a car custom? If I slap a few unique stickers on my car and put on some new wheels and tires, technically it is a custom car. But I certainly wouldn’t call it one. So you can customize a car but not call it a “custom car.” Similarly, you can make some small upgrades but you might not call them a mod.

mod-ish. It’s an improvement upon what was, but not necessarily a full on mod. Regardless, if it helps it helps.
I know this is blasphemous, but I would enjoy if this turned in to a Dale Sr tribute van.

What can you do to those engines? Are there any bolt ons available that improve performance?

I don’t agree that ‘custom’ for cars means literally customized. I think most people would agree that ‘custom’ involves some level of fabrication to make it ‘one of a kind’. So imo a 240 estate with coilovers from IPD, Virgo wheels and Pink prancing moose stickers may be modified to be one of a kind, but not custom. It becomes custom when the roof is removed to make it a Ute. That makes me question though, is a kit car custom?

Not really. The factory intake system seems pretty well done, maybe exhaust and the Challenger tune would eek out some more power, but in all honesty it has plenty. More low end torque would be my only wish, I hate that it has nothing until 4k.

So “custom” means more than just slightly customized, and “modded” means more than just slightly modified. At least to me.
“One of a kind” can be achieved in different ways. Custom fabrication is one way, but how about a custom paint job?
My overall point is mainly that we can make some changes to our vehicles without necessarily calling them mods. And what I consider a mod might be different than what you consider a mod, and that’s fine.
As for kit cars, I have no idea.

It’s a safety upgrade. You’re safer when you can see better. Not a mod.
Were the bulbs plug and play or did you nee d to get a different pigtail?
