I am feeling very burned out these days. I hoped my road trip to Texas would recharge my batteries, but it didn’t work. It felt good to be out on the road, but coming back left me as weighed down as before. I have to go see a dairy this morning, and a client in Salinas this afternoon, and I am dreading it. I don’t know what to do except to fight through it, but I feel really beat down and fed up.

I hope things turn for the better soon.  I hope all of you are in a better state than I am at this moment.

Eh, pretty much the same for me, minus the cool road trip. Having a baby and a 3 year old at 51 plus lots of job stress is a heavy load, it seems.

I’m sure your day will go fine - just plug through it.  Hope there’s more R&R in your very near future - gotta take care of yourself!

I’ve had it with my job but unfortunately i have to have a job and getting a new one is going to be a fucking process. I havn’ t updated my portfolio since college and that alone will be days of work, not to mention i don’ t have photos of a lot of the projects. The job I have offer s nothing and I need to get out but somewhat stuck here.

If I make it through my day without causing an HR issue I’ll be shocked, it is just that time of year, highest burnout always ha ppens in the early fall, I’ve seen it everywhere I’ve worked.

Put some Neil on for that trip out to see the client and Sail Away. Works for me.

Going to Salinas by way of Phoenix is optional, of course.

I feel you - but luckily I don’t own and run my own business.

My job has become a chore as most of my coworkers and management don’t give a fuck about anything which has made it very frustrating to be someone that cares about their work. I’m in a similar spot though as I make a lot of money (for St Louis) and it feels strange bitching about it but I’m unhappy enough that it is time to leave.

I am having positive progress though on my job hunt as I’ve had a couple companies in SF progress to the second interview stage with me.

Hopefully it turns up for you though!

Yes but you just replace the worn down feeling with brain freeze.

It’s a tough call, I can sympathize with you to a certain extent. I have to say my work satisfaction is a direct result of how well I feel physically and mentally. I would love to do something less stressful and that required less travel but there isn’t anything out there that pays as well, that I am qualified to do . So I guess I’m going to stick with it until I can reduce my expenses by 50% then I might consider a lower paying less stressful job like lift attendant at the ski resort or valet car parker at the Whitefish Lake Hotel.
