My w ord this thing looks clean:

Though there’s only one picture and no specs listed in the ad, which is a red flag to me... . But look at it!

I wonder if they’d take a mostly done Volvo 850 in trade? (Yes, I joke a lot about getting rid of it - I’m trying to keep myself from getting too attached to it).

I’m at about the halfway point on the Volvo, so naturally I’m already thinking about what’s next. I’m leaning towards some kind of 4x4. A J eep would be great but ideally I’d like to get a TJ (with an inline 6)  but I don’t think that’s happening at my anticipated budget ($1500-2000). But something like this could be good!

I bet it’s a fake ad.

Did the owner get it repainted at some point? The badge on the side, which the JX trim displayed prominently on the front fenders is missing. If it got a repaint, was there any rust? If so, how was that treated? Hopefully the seller will have decent answers.

The Samurai is real though, just not for that price.

Or maybe its a real price for a fake Samurai!

It did seem rather cheap compared to the few others I could find.

The other side is smashed and this side is all bondo and respray (which makes me incredibly sad to joke about, because I’d rather it were real..)

Reverse image search turns up approximately a zillion classified ads in random locations. Bizarre sales strategy or just a scam? Probably just a scam.

In any event this one (from March) has more pictures and info:

1988 Suzuki Samurai - Time for my next project, Sammy needs a new home.
Note: mileage given is as indicated on odometer, but is likely 100,000 mi more than likely that. Engine is strong and revs freely. Have not maxxed out the top speed, but it easily cruises at 75 mph in fifth gear. I’ve been getting 22mpg regularly driving around town.

New: alternator, fuel pump, water pump, belts, hoses, Weber carberator with manual choke, air filter, plugs and wires, filters, speedometer cable, manual choke, aluminum valve cover, aluminum radiator, and electric fan, etc.
Heater works well, fan and heater box cleaned out. Low Range Off Road métal air scoop on front cowl increases air flow while keeping the leaves out.
New rebuilt transfer case. Shifts easily, hubs cleaned and regreased.
New front bearings and steering linkage. Drives straight without typical old Samurai wandering.
New brake master cylinder and vacuum canister. New front brake pads and vented discs. Brakes work perfectly.
New front and rear bumpers.
New early metal « Hummer » style grill.
New mirrors.
New shifter knobs. White faced dials.
New front, tail and side marker lights with LED bulbs.
New bumper light guards.
New Blaupunkt radio, CD player.
Wooden Nardi steering wheel with Momo hub. New horn.
New Seat upholstery and center arm rest.
New door panels front and rear.
New window tinting.
New rear seat upholstery. New carpet. New headliner. New floor mats.
New CB radio.
New Hella LED headlights. New Hella fog lights.
New tires on reburbished Geo rims.
New exhaust system. New stainless steel headers.
Tow hitch with 7 pin plug. New LED rear reversing light.
New Gloss Khaki paint.
New roof rack.
In very good shape, everything works. Decent paint, easy to touch up with spray can. Not show quality by any means, but a rare and economical daily driver and off reader. Draws attention everywhere it goes.
Will assist buyer with transportation and delivery.
FOR SALE LOCALLY. MAY END AUCTION EARLY - BID NOW!

On Mar-11-19 at 12:19:46 PDT, seller added the following information:

Engine runs strong, there is a small oil leak at the distributor housing mount. I have the replacement o-ring and will fix it this week. Starts immediately when cold and choked. Starts quickly when warm.

It could be a really good scale model.
