Go lf’s broken again. Another weird one I’ve never experienced. I drove it down the street fine, then turned the corner and... nothing. No power at all, started stalling out the second I slipped the clutch. I was getting lots of misses, backfire sounds, and some high pitched pinging... Maybe I clogged the cat? Maybe timing slipped? Bad coil? Who knows.
Crap. Guess the Saturn is my daily now...

Bummer! At least the weather is nicer around here now . The Saturn always preferred cooler weather.

Fuel filter looks original so... yeah, that

Ha, yeah. I have the ECTS (2 wire, to fan relay) unplugges so the fans run constantly right now. If I don’t, it overheats in traffic. I should replace that sensor, I have a new one.

Check ignition or battery first, but could be something else if you’re getting cut off while cornering. Timing sensor, etc.

It was a corner from a stop, then I couldn’t pull away from a stoplight (going straight). I think it’s a fuel delivery problem. I unplugged the MAF to put it in open loop, still no go. Could also be timing as it was off a tooth but it’s been like that since I bought it (PO said for autocross purposes). Only timing sensor is the hall on the distributor, which has been out of range forever because of the previously mentioned timing issue.

I didn't notice any other electrical issues and I was moving it by bumping the starter motor, so I don't think it's that either...

Maybe? I'll start with the fuel filter since it needs changed anyways most likely, then work my way in.

This sounds like a Car Talk. Like... turning the corner causes the loose battery to short out onto something or....the ghost of your ex is haunting it. But, given it is a VW, my first guess would indeed be electrical.
