Just drove from our home in western Kentucky to Navarre Beach, Florida. What was supposed to be a 9.5 hour drive turned into a (literal) 12 hour misadventure of seemingly endless stop-and-go traffic and typical Alabama heat. The car read 102° while we were stuck on I-65.
My anxiety was ridiculous the whole way, with the traffic grating on my nerves for hours.
We had the A/C blasting and the trunk loaded down with a week’s worth of luggage (which is a lot when you have a toddler on board). And, we still averaged 31.4 miles-per-gallon! Not too shabby, considering the times we weren’t stopped, we were going 80 or so.
Left home at 6:30 A.M. and arrived here at 6:42 P.M. I need a drink.

Yes. It’s a swordfish and my son was afraid of it and refused to get out of the car.

He got over it pretty quickly, but I thought it was funny, too.
