This was one of those special moments in life where you realize that the ideal gas law applies to every day life.

Kinja'd!!!

It appears the temperature rose enough inside the car to cause the pressure inside the can to exceed the maximum pressure rating. Although I did not get to witness the explosion, the aftermath wasn’t as bad as one would expect. A wet rag and a roll of paper towels was all I needed to soak up the excess and clean up any sticky residue. There was a significant showing in the console area but hardly any made it onto the seats. The only switch to be splashed was the auto stop/start switch . The gear selector was clean and dry despite being right next to the can .

Lucky me!

Yup....those things can have a surp rising amount of force! Same thing happened to a friend a few years ago and he still can’t get the Coca-Cola stains out of his headliner...

I’m thankful that it didn’t really spray. It just sorta blew the lid off and that was it.

Hmmm I've only had that happen when they freeze.  Kinda same result but in slow motion.

I had a 12-pack of seltzer water break open and spill loose cans around the car. I thought I got them all, but one day last winter one under the passenger seat exploded. It was a loud boom and my ears were ringing for an hour. Since it was just water there wasn’t much to clean up, thankfully. But that noise - I thought some shot at me...

There was a story about a woman who thought she was shot in the head. It was a can of biscuits popping. What she thought was her brains leaking out was just some of the dough stuck to her hair.

One year I was snow plowing for my dad, and left a can of A- treat cream soda in the truck. For those not from Penn, A treat is red. We had a foot so snow, followed by -20 with super winds. So the next day start the truck up, let the engine warm up. Go to replow the drifts and all of a sudden I see this

Kinja'd!!!

The can exploded, froze on the ceiling and when melted, started to drip down the window.
