He needs to throw in the towel.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

I survived a heart attack 30 years younger than him with only 1 stent and it knocked me on my ass for months. My cardiologist says 2-3 years for the heart to heal fully.  He does not belong on the campaign trail.  This is not a political post - it is personal.  I am not a supporter, but I want him to live and I have some experience with what he has gone through.  Stop, Bernie. Live.  You can't do this, and more importantly, you shouldn't.  Stop. Retire.  Live.

I kinda agree-ish... If Bernie took this opportunity to step out gracefully, I think his supporters would rally behind Warren even without him suggesting it, and that would be fine by me. I liked Bernie 4 years ago, and I still think he got rail- roaded by the DNC, but he’s older now and Liz is a non-awful option... take it easy Bern, stay alive a bit longer.

I don’t think he should’ve run in the first place; but hey its a free country...

Fun fact; Lopez Obrador has a major heart condition; he actually had an almost deadly heart attack in 2013.

Not sure how fun it is if I think about it ; if he dies in office it will be a huge issue because we don’t really have a line of succession. He’s not even in his seventies iirc.

I think he should drop out. I don’t think he will.

I think that the heart attack scare will really hurt his poling; no idea if it also hurts Biden. Don’t be surprised if you suddenly see a lot of propaganda of candidates exercising from this point forward

I totally agree

Bernie and Biden are too old. Warren is also pretty old. Weld gets a pass because he’s the only decent republican challenger . B ut democrats have more good people that are younger.

John Delaney and Tulsi Gabbard are awesome and can beat Trump. Tulsi will be in the next debate too

He’s my favorite candidate by far, but as much as I’d like to see him get to the White House he shouldn’t kill himself in the attempt. That being said, my feeling is that he sees this as sort of a personal crusade so he may not know when to stop. I guess we’ll see :(

My understanding is that Biden is the second choice of most Sanders supporters. No, it doesn’t make sense. If he drops out he would probably endorse Warren, though, so you may still be right.

That is true, but I suspect it mostly has to do with Biden having the biggest name recognition (and Bernie having the second most). I suspect Biden won’t be the big beneficiary if Bernie drops out though. And Biden is looking shaky. He’s got poll problems, he has fundraising problems (finishing 4th in Q3, which is not what you expect from the “frontrunner”), and of course if Bernie pulls out (or even if he doesn’t), Biden’s opponents will no doubt note that electing a guy only a year younger (and who frankly seems less vigorous  with a duller mind) is perhaps not the best option.

Warren is old, but she’s also 8 years younger than Bernie and 7 years younger than B iden, which is a big difference, even before you consider that women live significantly longer on average.

Delaney and Gabbard are not awesome by my book, lots of bad politics there.

Gabbard was one of the first to endorse Bernie in 2016. She resigned from the DNC after being told Hillary was going to be the nominee; she went on to endorse Bernie. She is against the endless wars and idiotic military spending.

Delaney is a moderate with crossover appeal

Who do you like the most so far?

If you support Warren after supporting Bernie, you never understood Bernie

Shame, probably the most charismatic opposition figure, and the opposition needs charisma as much as anything.   But yeah, it’s time to hang em up while you still have a chance.

Gabbard also has a nasty history of Assad apologism and promoting conversion therapy. I actually quite like a lot of Delaney’s policy positions, minus the mandatory national service, but a politician who can’t generate any support in his own party isn’t much of one.

The only two out of the top five that I’d be happy to vote for are Biden and Buttigieg. I’d vote for Bernie, Warren, or Harris over Trump but I wouldn’t be happy about it.

You’ll note I described Warren as “non-awful”, meaning far from ideal, but better than the other likely options less Bernie.
