As a part of my family’s efforts to get my car to the nerve center of Canada, we drove into !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and then spent a whole day there. Here are my pictures from my first proper visit of my nation’s capital (my first time being the War Museum visit as part of our military’s Basic Training, so it did not quite count).

Ottawa is a beautiful city, notwithstanding the US Embassy and the creepy old abandoned Trudeau mansion. The Chateau Laurier addition is going to uglify things a bit, though.

It’s nice but boring as all getout - the city effectively closes at 5pm. Agree about the US Embassy, what a nasty pile of garbage building that is.

You’ve seen more of Ottawa than I have in the last several years, and I live here.

I guess I take all of this stuff for granted. Nice photos, though; it’s a good reminder of why this city is nice.

You missed Diefenbunker, a little outside Ottawa. The thing is you need atleast a 1/2 to do it, so much coldwar era stuff & in it. Neat spot to visit. Also parking prices in Byward Market is stupid.
