Those look very good especially the onions.
I don’t know why,
but I like fresh cucumbers on my burgers
not pickles.

had to google gherkins like a typical american. unsure of where the word came from, but i approve of its use to name pickled cucumbers.

Gherkins are a variety of cucumber. Gherkins tend to be one to four inches in length with (how to describe it?), not so smooth texture, while cucumbers are smooth skinned and about 10 - 16 inches in length.

I like the tang of the pickled gherkin (a smaller variety of cucumber).
I pickled sliced white onion in the juices in the jar that had contained gherkins, which took out some of the bitterness but left the flavour and the crunch.

I tend to like eggs on pork meat rather than beef meat.
I’m not saying I haven’t put an egg on a burger, but I wouldn’t have the gherkins and onions on were I to.

I can eat cucu mbers on mass and when I was a kid in Saudi, I would eat a couple of cucumbers in place of an ice cream.
I once tried gherk ins with strawberry ice cream after it came out a common want for British pregnant women was strawberry ice cream and gherkins. With plain gherkins it was okay, with pickled gherkins it wasn’t as good, but not bad.

I guess just different tastes, for me putting an egg on top of that is perfect. There is this burger joint
here in NYC (Bareburger) that lets you put an egg on top of pretty much any burger. So delicious.

For me it’s the different competing tastes (eggs can be completely masked by pickled gherkins) together and the different textures.
I mean. I love chicken pies, I loved cooked mushrooms and mushrooms w ith pork medallions and a creamy garlic sauce topped with filo pastry, but offer me a chicken and mushrooms pie and I politely say no thank you.

Heh, where as I love chicken and mushroom pie. For me the combination of the egg yoke with the saltiness of pickled
Gherkins along with the meat and cheese
is great. I’ve always found egg whites themselves to be filler surrounding the egg
yoke (as you can tell I like it runny)
.

Oh you can’t beat a runny egg, especially on a pork and beef burger.
Soooo good.
