I’ve been mildly searching for the right 3rd car for the family; the leading contender right now seems to be an older version of the A3 Quattro in the hatchback.
But as is common with internet car shopping; I’ve had some mission drift.
All the way to land yachts.

This is a bit of drive and I think if we get a third car it’ll be even cheaper than this; but this seems like it’d be entertaining.

I have a Jaguar for my 3rd car and love it. So far it’s even been more reliable tha the GTI which wa supposed to be the reliable but fun DD.

Good Lord, this pic alone makes me want to go buy an old Jag. I bet that's comfortable in addition to looking so good..

Cars have no age restrictions. Besides Lincoln Town Cars and non-boosted Buicks.

This seems like good logic.

I don’t know where Jags of this era stand for reliability.
Yours looks gorgeous.

It ends up with you enjoying a car that you truly love driving, despite being 25 and the median age of ownership being 61.

XF is no land yacht, that’s the XJ. XF = 5 Series or E-Class, which are common among 30-40 something middle managers

Awesome color.
I am probably 15 years younger than the typical driver of my DD, and 30 years younger than the typical driver of the fintail, go for it.

Thanks, it looks a bit better in pictures than real life (the maroon paint hides rust well)
80s Jags were supposedly awful but improved over 70s Jags. I think one can assume any car from that era running well has had most of the.worst bugs sorted by now. Mine really has had very little trouble in over 10k apart from age related items (belts, hoses, brakes).
I’m sure 2010s Jaguars aren’t 90s Japan levels of reliability but they can’t be any worse than modern German cars.
