"Dogapult" (dogapult)

Went to dinner with a friend, starting from their house. Came back to this.
No note or anything. Welp, guess I’m looking for a 240 tail light.
Lucky enough, just the light, the bumper trim, and the bumper itself were affected. I would not want to have to find a good quarter panel for this.

I hope this person’s car is worse off. They deserve it.

I have the same problem, and my car sadly has the scars to prove it. I’ve been looking at buying a house, and my two main criteria are a two-car garage and a decent basement. Everything else - bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, etc. - are optional...

I live in a city and constantly worry about coming out to a destroyed car.
It sucks only having street parking conveniently available.

Yeah, it totally could have.

Well, I mean, normally I’d joke that their car must be totalled since they hit a Volvo 240, but considering they just grazed the bumper and shattered my tail light, damage to theirs was probably minimal.

I don’t normally have this problem, this just occurred parking at a friend’s house.

It’d be hilarious, but probably wouldn’t have stopped this one. It looks like it happened via someone backing out of the driveway across the street. can’t prove that, though.

Yeah, I don’t really like it, for sure. Luckily, this is at a friend’s house, rather than my own.

It wasn’t. It looks like someone backed out of the driveway across the street and hit it. But I can’t prove that. Just makes sense since there was no scrape on the car anywhere other than that corner. I also was parked AT the curb. the tail end of the Volvo could not have been further right without being up on the curb in my friend’s lawn

Let me have a look around. can you give me more details? yr/mk/model/color name, etc.
I can tell it’s a Mercedes....300d?

I don’t know if that makes it better or worse. :/
In my case I live in a neighborhood that dates back to the 1800s, so garages are a rare sight.

Mine is a 1985 300d, but I’m pretty sure any drivers side rear door from the 80-85 would fit, the color is 9 32 lapisblau. My issue is that I can’t find any of these in junkyards around here everyone hoards them as runners or parts cars

I don’t wish death upon them. but I would’ve enjoyed not having to repair the car.

My understanding is that relevant law specifies the maximum width of the car, so as long as your slab isn’t too wide overall it is ok (I have no idea if that particular one is actually legal) .

I’ve seen video of guys with slabs getting annoyed because it’s narrower than a car trailer, and yet they get pulled over for it anyway.

Poor brick... :(
I’m very fortunate to have a garage or street parking in a nice neighborhood on a street with a cul de sac or at work in a parking lot at a secured compound.

Assholes!
On the plus side, their car is probably totaled considering the damage to
the 245.

100% chance they will, in fact, die. Maybe not today, maybe not this or the next
decade, but someday.

Yeah, I’m hoping to get into a new place this summer as that’s when my lease is up here, basically every little noise I hear I shoot to the window to make sure someone didn’t hit one of my cars or my girlfriends.
Even worse is when we use the public lot, since its a half mile away.
