Also, since the LS is with my parents and I don’t have another dog car , I took the ISF and no dogs making it the second straight day I’ve driven it.

How do you feel about it having a knockoff Stinger key???

Limited series saison. They make like 10 gallons of a beer and release it only in the taproom.

I like the Kia Keys. I actually wish this had the circular detonator lock button too but beggars can’t be choosers.

You wouldn’t like my Kia’s key. No keyless entry/fob or any decorative bits at all. Barely even says kia

And how’s it rate?

On a level of Toyota Yaris to Lexus LFA (IS F is the midpoint), how is the driving experience?

It’s a Carolla ride but less handling. It was nice for a road trip.

good! I wish I wasn’t so darn cold otherwise it would be reaaaally good.

The $53,000 Tundra has a key with a remote separate. C’mon toyota.

That is a beautiful car.
I...... can’t believe I just said that about a Kia.

I love that car, but, do you love it?
I also drove
exclusively
in sport mode today so I'm happy.

Is the Kia good or meh?

It’s a car! For $26k you get a crap ton. Ya not fun and it’s not fast but it did the job of getting to Chattanooga and back quite well.

It’s just so slow. Maybe a bit faster than the CH-R but soo slow.

It’s fine looking haha. He rear end is the best part.

2.0L but it’s got a CVT in it

How is it? Actually thinking about getting a manual one for a cheap DD, absolutely love the styling and there's decent deals already.

I’d check out the Carolla first but if you can get the manual with a bunch of the goodies it would be worth looking at

CVTs conflict me.
As someone that studies engineering the concept of infinitely variable ratios controlled by computer really interest me, but on the other side, most CVTs are so, so annoyingly bad.
Perhaps we're so used to gears that CVTs don't make much sense yet.
![]() 01/26/2019 at 22:38 |

I think the problem is that CVTs should have all the torque all the time but CVTs are not strong enough to have all the torque all the time, so instead they letthe engine go to all of the RPMs and rob you of all torque
![]() 01/26/2019 at 22:56 |
|
The thing is, we’ve been perfecting gears for so long, and gears are so good at transfering power and torque without significant losses that we just get used to them, but they are an inferior product to CVTs from a control perspective
.
Now that we have ten gear transmissions you really need to ask yourself what will happen in the future, as cars get heavier torque becomes more important, so CVTs are at a significant disadvantage unless manufactuers find belt materials that are cheap, strong,
and longlasting
On the other hand, as hybrids become more popular, you can have a fine-tuned CVT that will be better for fuel economy as an electric motor figures out a way to get more torque.

Yeah base model with the stick ticks most of my boxes except heated seats which can always be done aftermarket, I like the Corolla too but no Android auto and while MSRP may be somewhat close, selling price definitely isn't, I found a few Forte's in my area for like $14k.
