!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Just finished up some computer upgrades and thought I’d share to see what everyone else is working/gaming on. First image is my triple monitor setup, wireless mechanical keyboard (10 keyless), wired mechanical numpad, and mx master 2s (hidden in the darkness). Next is my tower that I’ve upgraded to the below specs:
Fractal focus G
i7 7700
cooler master evo 212 cooler
32 gb ddr4 memory (4x8gb)
GTX 1060 6gb
256 GB nvme SSD
2 x 500 GB sata ssd’s
3.5" hdd hotswap bay
I also added a 3rd case fan at the back. Still waiting on my sd card reader that will take up the other 5.25" bay. At that point I’ll lose functionality of the usb 3.0 port on the top of the case (but gain 1 in the front), so I’ll probably cover the top i/o with some caps. I wish my motherboard came with another 3.0 header, but eventually I’ll probably upgrade the board to an overclockable chip which will require a new motherboard anyways. Probably for the best if I ever decide to go dual GPU since this MB only supports that for AMD video cards and not SLI.
The last pic is it setup in dual workstation mode, with my surface book extended to the lower display. The usb toggle hub is great for switching peripherals.
And unseen is the 55" 4k 60hz tv I have mirrored to the top display for gaming from the couch (where I have 2 xbox controllers wired). Mostly playing Forza Horizon 3, Madden, and FIFA on the TV, with some PUBG when I’m at my desk . Might try out rocket league soon.
What’s everyone else working with?

I’m running a Ryzen 7/ RX580 8GB system with 32gb ram @ 2400. It rocks for 1080p gaming (it also rocks for having ALL the tabs open at the same time) , which is all my 27" 75mhz monitor will handle. I’m probably at least a few years out from going higher resolution. Even at 1440, monitor prices for big and speedy screens haven’t yet fallen in price to the point I want to buy one.

Very nice, portrait monitors are very underrated for productivity.

Not a bad looking case, the only complaint I have with mine is cable management and the lack of a second SSD tray, hence why I have double sided taped my second ssd to the back of the motherboard tray.

I here you on the monitor prices, but I don’t do enough gaming for it to make a difference with my eyesight.

I used to have one on each side of the 30", but have run into failing capacitors. I currently have two other 2005 fpws stashed away while I decide if I actually want to put in the effort to unsolder and replace their capacitors (my soldering skills are poor). Honestly I’d just buy new screens to recreate my setup (the backlight on the 30" isn’t doing great), except there’s nothing out there that would do a great job replacing the portraits. Maybe I could make it work with 1920x1200 displays on the side, but IIRC, they are a little big compared to most 4K screens (while being lower density).

This isnt a workstation. This is a gaming battle station masquerading as a work station. Just because you rotate a monitor to portrait mode to “make it easier to read documents” doesn’t suddenly make you more productive.
T hat portrait mode is just for shit posting here while you game in windowed mode on one screen and have whatever you’re su pposed to be working on, on the other monitor so you can maximize it when the boss walks by.
I know all your tricks. You can’t fool me.
I use the same myself XD

Haha, most of the time the left screen has spent with slack, gmail, or API reference docs open.

I don’t like the N21 personally. Too gamer-y. I appreciate how much cable management room it has behind the panel though.
