in other words Canada is cold like water is wet. Except in Canada, where water is hard as a fucking rock. Or am I just mad because I had to steer, drive a manual, and hold the driver’s door shut the whole time.

Pretty sure it’s the last one. But also, winter here sucks.

it’s my 41st one on the dusty plains. You never get used to it. also I shouldn’t have washed the car.

It’s my second one here, and I have the feeling I won’t get used to it. And I learned the car wash thing last year, after my girlfriend yelled at me for the gas cap being frozen shut.

This has not been a bad winter, It’s been a few years since a really nasty one. It can potentially be -25 nonstop from november to february.

classic pushbutton doorhandles. love them. can’t thaw the button with a torch like the old “65 pontiac days” though.

Oh totally. A few stints of -40, mostly -15, it’s been downright balmy. Last winter, though, was a little long. Planking outside in the snow in April was not a fond memory.

could be worse, will complain no matter what.
![]() 01/20/2019 at 14:34 |

Yet O ntario complains that -20 is extreme cold.

There’s nothing more Canadian than complaining about winter, then saying “Wow, the rest of the world can barely handle winter! We’re so tough!”
![]() 01/20/2019 at 14:35 |

But it’s a wet cold. It still sucks.

also 65 fullsize pontiacs have a “pontiac fusion reactor” heater core. 1 pump gas once, 2 twist key once, 3 come back 10 minutes later and the whole car is steaming, and starting to thermally clear the driveway. miss that car.

Do you think you are going to relocate? And if so, to where?

it’s in our frozen blood.

Well...
Situation depending, Most likely, I’ll just be staying here in Saskatchewan, because I need to work for at least five years and do two years up north in the province in order to move provinces. But my girlfriend really wants to go back to Manitoba, as much as we like Saskatchewan.
![]() 01/20/2019 at 14:47 |

Would you be in Winnipeg or more north? Just don’t come to BC. Literally doing paperwork right now and this is my property assessment that I pay my prop taxes off.
And I still live in the cheapest place in this area.
![]() 01/20/2019 at 14:53 |

Holy crap that’s expensive. And hopefully near Winnipeg, within an hour or two drive at least. I’m not going to BC, not with the current cost of living and potential for my employer to lose a huge contract.
![]() 01/20/2019 at 14:53 |

If that loss of contract goes through... that will really suck.

Ooh yes. I mean, it’ll be great for the rest of the country, but half of the staff is likely to transfer and not stay with us.

“The east side is the best side” no it fucking sucks. It’s cold and the wind is always blowing. Move to BC, start a grow operation, profit!

by the way, my wife applied for a job with your company in Mission. Hopefully she gets it, I’d love to move more into the valley. Cheaper and prettier

Grow op or some sort of hipster yoga.
You gonna make tons of cash in bc

Gl ad I’m not the only one hating winter in Canada.
Its my first year here. This sucks.
![]() 01/20/2019 at 17:31 |

I t does suck. BUT we are all big whiners about it. It’s cold but there’s really only 15-20 days where it’s just dity, ignorant, evil-cold. The rest of the winter is manageable, if not much fun. Hang in there.
![]() 01/21/2019 at 03:41 |

join us for summer then?

would love to, unfortunately this shit isn’t going to shovel itself.

there’s jobs for sure, and Saskatchewan is less of a culture shock now that we’ve been in communication with the outside world for 20 years. it used to be “welcome to Saskatchewan, set your watch back 20 years.
