One thing I love when it comes to cars is station wagons/estates/shooting breaks/etc. One thing I hate on cars is fender skirts.
So why am I indifferent to the DS Break, yet absolutely love the DS sedan? It makes no sense.

The DS is immune to all normal rules.
If only EssExTee could be so grossly incandescent

The shape of the sedan does flow much better over all.
I’d stil take the wagon if giving the choice

Kind of like the B5 Passat - all the curves flow well on the sedan, but the back of the wagon seemed like an afterthought and didn’t blend well with the front. Sure, it’s practical, much like the DS Break, but not as cohesive a design as the sedan.

Yeah it’s very clear that the DS sedan was a shape first and a car later

But it doesn’t seem like it has the compromises in packaging and serviceability that come from being a great shape first. Yeah, there is some taper to the back which might impact seat width, but from what I’ve seen it’s still quite spacious.

i absolutely agree. I think o ne reason a modern DS wouldn’t work is that modern cars don’ t have big open airy cabins. If you took that aspect away from the DS it would lose a lot of its charm.
