I’m trying to send a program, I wrote, to a friend who’s not very tech savy, so I wrote a bat/sh file to launch the program, but gmail won’t let me send it because it thinks is malware. Anyone know any up to date ways around it? I tried using sending it as a .rar, but apparently they’ve closed that and a few other loop holes.
The damn thing won’t even let me send it as a .txt file.
The rest of the file is a .jar and some .class files. Which I don’t think are causing the issues.

Compile it into an exe? Otherwise try Google drive or airdrop. Make the file public and give them a link.

Forgot to mention she has a mac, so an exe wouldn’t work. Guess I’ll try google drive.

I’d say change the bat/sh file’s extension to .txt, but then I remembered that there exist people technically ignorant enough to not know what a file name extension is.i guess you could gauge that if the other person can follow instructions on how to change Explorer’s (or Finder’s) settings regarding to show extensions, that person would not need a launcher script
to do things for her.

7zip or host it onto Google drive and share the link.

only way I can think of is to compress it with a utility/format which allows you to both encrypt the data and the filename, e.g. 7-zip. otherwise the contents can be seen and blocked.

Copy and paste in plain text in the email and walk them through copying and pasting into a batch file over the phone?

Rewrite it in Go because Google knows better than everyone. That’s why they had to invent a programming language for people who were too stupid to write functioning code in C or C++.
Seriously though, just paste the whole thing as the email as plaintext.

Nope. Google blocks all compressed archives with passwords because they’re so much smarter than you.
Yes, all the fucking sarcasm in the world.
If you’re a Google employee reading this: no. I don’t respect you. You are an idiot, you are unqualified, you are what is wrong with the Internet.

I’d imagine they can use 7zip or winRaR.

Google Steal-Your-Data will automatically delete any file they decide in their infinite wisdom is ‘malware’ or ‘bad.’ If gmail won’t send or receive it, Drive will refuse it as well.

Yeah. There is a reason I spit on Google and their employees. “OH BUT WE’RE GOOGLE, THAT MAKES US THE SMARTEST.” Yeah, good job fucking up something we had working perfectly fine in the 1980's there. (Yes, I’ve been doing this longer than Google’s been around.)

try this in the future.

Hint: it’s not.

No I do not, I am saying they are completely different.
T
he filters for gmail and exclusions for google drive are not the same thing
, I host batch files and unsigned software with Google Drive for my dev team
, both the
Gmail Google Drive and Gsuite for business versions and have been using both since it released in 2012
without anything
being “
automatically deleted”
by Google.
No email filter worth their salt will allow batch files to send without an exclusion
, I always use some form of file sharing to send them to my techs or clients.
