I’ve been driving my GTI for almost three months now and I’m still loving it! Time for some accessories.
My parents gave me some nice floor mats for Christmas. Monster mats from VW. Perfect fit and I love the look.
I bought a seat protector and seatbelts for my dogs.
Tangled belts
Next up is a trailer hitch. Need a way to haul the mulch home this spring. I’m considering a roof rack but I’m not sure how much I would actually use it.

Roof rack just makes the car loud and annoys you 95% of the time. I vote for no roof rack.

My boss has one on his Mazda 3 and it is so noisy. This is mostly what I’m concerned about.

Thanks, I’m happy with them. I felt like the winter weather was going to destroy the carpets mats really fast.

Next step is a new sound system. I just installed it in my e-Golf, and HOLY SHIT!! It’s night and day. Plenty of bass for an adult, and the DSP is just great. You have to either borrow or buy a programmer, but it’s still worth it. And DIY install is absolutely possible.

I would definitely like to upgrade the sound system, but I don’t want to give up my spare tire. Some sort of small sub is on the table though.

You don’t have to give up your spare. I don’t have a spare so the sub had to go in the false floor, and it’s the same for the R. But for the GTI you can keep the spare underneath in its original spot and out the sub in the false floor like I did.
