Woohoo! And very glad you like it! :)
My dumb ass - true story here - figured “x-ray damages film! I’d better protect it!” Because, again, I r dum (and stuck in the 80's .) So I wrapped it in about half a pound of tin foil and mylar as neat as could be.
Which, turns out, looks like a bomb. Whoops. It was at THIS time that the people who had destroyed the packaging AND THE DAMN BOX AND LABEL informed me that oh btw, just wrap it in tissue paper, it’s low power x-rays and will be fine.
DAMNIT.
But definitely let me know what you think of the TMax. I haven’t tried it since they went to TMY-2. I might have to actually get out the big old Canon and pretend I know what I’m doing. ;)

Ahahaha! Amazing. We’re probably both on some sort of watch list now.
Definitely break out that old Canon!

Oh, I’m already on THE list.
“Blah blah anything hazardous biological explosive etcetera?”
Yes.
“... wait what?”
It’s hazardous. Explosive bolts.
“We... I ... I need to get my manager.”
Could you please? Because I
really
need to know how I’m supposed to get these from point A to point B.
And maybe once the weather warms up... I’m terrified of breaking anything on it. I really should just bite the bullet and upgrade to a DSLR or something, but apparently the ‘new’ equivalent to my 300mm f/2.8 lens is six-god-damn-thousand dollars. AND won’t even shoot as good! (Slower shutter, apparently. WTF Canon?!)
I cannot afford a photogenic Porsche and that kinda hobby even without the film expenses. Especially when one considers, uh, well... I ain’t exactly that good. Something something rule of thirds.

lol
That’s an awesome sounding lens. Don’t know much about Canon, i s your lens not compatible with current cameras?
I would like to one day get a 70-200 2.8, but it’s too heavy for my little D3300 and can actually bend the lens mount. Not to mention a bit of an unnecessary expense at this time.
You’re right, that is damn photogenic car. Love the photo too . Those ominous clouds contrast with the foreground lighting and make for a cool image.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Yeah, that’s the problem. It’s a Canon FL mount, which is almost 50 years obsoleted. And what I was told by the experts is that there isn’t a single FL adapter that will actually let me run ISO1000+.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Obviously I am not the voice of expertise myself here, but frankly, the only reason I won’t give up my 300's is because if I’ve got the film out I’m shooting from like... WAY the hell back. I’ve got a 300 f/2.8 SSC and an 85- 300 f/5.6 superfast, both tuned by someone who knows what the fuck they’re doing (read: NOT ME!) so I can get sharpness on cars going 150MPH+ when I’m standing something like 200 yards away. When I’m up closer to the track, I usually use the 50 or 85 primes .
Last time I ran the numbers to rebuild my total setup as an equivalent DSLR, it came out to something north of $30k. I paid about $25 0 for everything I have. And I’m not even sure it would be equivalent.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Yeah, I just loved that setup. But of course, I didn’t have a real camera with me at the time. (The contrast was even greater in person.) And I didn’t have a polarized filter. And the composition sucks. And the framing sucks.
But otherwise I love it! ;)

Definitely don’t give up that setup, but yeah, 30k is a bit steep. I guess bare minimum, just a full frame dslr and that lens, you’d even be at 10-12k . Definitely not a cheap hobby, but of course I’m gonna say you should do it. :P
I’ve been really happy with some of the stuff I managed to get with the cheap 55-300 that I have for mine.

When you get back out shooting(do it soon)make sure you stop by the Photography kinja or the weekly
Whitenoise Gallery. (t
he latter is more of just cool stuff you saw during the week and no artistic attempt needs to be made)
