Okay confession time. I was at the mall with my daughter, and she wants to go to the Starbucks and get a Pumpkin Spiced Latte. It’s crowded with all the stereotypical people you expect to be crowding a Starbucks in an uppercrust suburban mall, but what the heck. I have a gift card someone gave me, and I never go to Starbucks.
So we wait in line, and she orders her latte. I look at the picture, sigh, and say why not? So I get one too. And you know what? It was good. As in, I’ll probably be going back for another. After all, there is another $20 left on the gift card...

This is some dark stuff, be careful how far down this road you go. Next you will want a Honda Odyssey with curb feelers and will be getting coffee with your “girl friends” on Saturday
morning before going to watch the kids play soccer.

I will also confess to something: pumpkin spice latte beer.
I was at Highland Brewing Company in Asheville and they had it up on the board and living the actual Aqua Barbie Girl life for five minutes was too much to resist.

You want dark, I’ll give you dark:
I wouldn’t be upset if my kid wanted to play soccer. I might be cheaper than swimming, and it’s still good for her.
Getting coffee with girl friends sounds like fun. I like coffee and girls, especially when it’s the other kids’ moms because then I can sit and talk up close to the good looking ones, and it’s not creepy.
Joke about curb feelers all you want, but they could have saved me from curb rash on an $800 chrome rim last month.
I passed a lowered Odyssey on the highway yesterday
and 1) didn’t immediately vomit, 2) wished I could have taken a pic to show you guys.
Excuse me, I need to make an appointment with a therapist now.

I have to say, that sounds really disgusting, like two flavors that should never be put together. Was it actually good? I’ve seen one take on it at my grocery store. Should I try it?

What they did was that they loaded up particularly heavy on the nutmeg and ginger, or something, so between that and the trace of coffee flavor it was like an IPA hop bitterness that didn’t come from hops. It was okay. Don’t know I’d get another, but it was drinkable.

Having been involved in both swimming and soccer; soccer is significantly cheaper. Unless your kid gets good enough for travel soccer. Then it’s INSANELY expensive.
When I first saw one of the new Pacificas I realized I kinda liked it. I also kinda like the Nissan Quest. It’s just different enough to be interesting.
I do not care for pumpkin spice lattes but would happily sip a caramel macchiato while talking to attractive soccer moms.

Oh yeah , my wife’s cousins went the soccer route and ended up traveling across state lines for tournaments. That was an investment! Turns out to have been a good one though, because both kids went to college on soccer scholarships. One is now head coach of a Div 2 or 3 women’s team in the PNW.
I liked the Pacifica too. Nice interior, although I still like the Sedona a bit better. I brought my wife to see the Quest, but she didn’t like it at all, and it was her car purchase, so that ended right there.
A caramel macchiato sounds so foo fy, but honestly I’d go for one too.

I’ve never tried one, but other lattes go great with a cigar. Maybe I should try that.

Looking at the big picture you are not wrong on any of those counts and having a child/school connection is the best way to get in with the moms club.

My daughter’s new school is right now having a moms night out at a brewery. I just texted her:
Me: you going to the moms night out thing?
Wife: no.
Me: too bad I don’t qualify :(
Wife: dads will probably have something.
She is right, of course, and I will go to that when it happens . But that event won’t have moms at it.
