I liked Johnson and Weld. Those who will disagree with me are legion, but I think we would have done better with them than with either of the big party candidates in office. I wish him well.

First person I ever voted for in a public election was Michael Badnarik for President in the 2004 election. He’s pretty radical, even for a Libertarian. He moved to Texas and drove in that state for years without a drivers license because the Texas DMV
demanded he provide a SSN and fingerprints to obtain one, which he was unwilling to do.

That’s fucked up. ND basically requires certified birth certificate, utility bill, SS Card, apartment lease if rent /tax statement if own for a license for citizens. For green card holders there’s more. Isn’t that bad enough?

Would have cast my vote for Johnson if I thought he had a shot of winning.
Thought he did a pretty good job as governor when I was growing up in NM. Any Republican who managed to get elected in NM twice HAD to have some level of moderate-ness, after all.

I would say liked is a bit strong for me, but they were better than the two major party candidate. The second most disappointing thing about the 2016 election is that the libertarians still couldn’t even break 4 percent nationally . Hell, Colin Powell, Bernie, Kasich, Ron Paul, and Faith Spotted Eagle all ended up with at least one electoral vote and the libertarians couldn’t even muster up that.

Strictly speaking then, you didn’t follow Texas law. Thumb print has been required since 1967. In recent years they started taking all ten fingerprints, but then stopped after a public uproar.

They must not have told the DPS office in Northwest El Paso... Either that or the system already had my prints in it from other security clearance investigations, LE employment and concealed carry licenses from various states. Although, none of that ever happened in Texas.
