Paint has arrived, soon to be going on to a car...
I’ve decided to go with gloss orange, white and satin black for the exterior (engine bay and interior will be some kind of grey that's lying around)
Can't wait to see how it's going to end up, just awaiting delivery of arches before the paint goes on

Somehow I misread that as “soon to be going on a t own c ar”. This is the first thing Google showed me.

well it’s very similar to the colour I’m going with and probably has the same cylinder count so not too far off...

yep, it’s 2k paint for a classic car so not sure that it’s as bad for posting as others but it was very well packed, no real space for movement

It’s interesting to me as I am in the US and the standard is you buy it from specialized automotive paint stores and only very cheap companies sell pre mixed colors or “
factory pack” paint colors and it ends up sometimes being more expensive than just buying from a local supplier like PPG or Sherwin Williams.
I would be nervous buying paint mail order but they seemed to have packed it very well.
I recently painted some wheels and its very cool to be able to learn a new skill and come out with a nice paint job. Of course not everyone is willing to invest in a compressor or paint gun.

My dad is the one doing the painting as he’s painted all of his rally cars over the years and always used ‘2 pack’ paint which is more durable than what modern cars use, though only technically legal to spray on classics nowadays

Really? Here in the US there are certain areas that regulate the VOCs other areas dont care but most companies make a 2K solvent based paint that can be used. I think the US has been a lot slower to transition to waterborne paint. So they actually have laws stating that only older cars can be sprayed with 2K solvent paint?
