The K-9 unit was called in to hunt down the driver, who located a half-mile from the crash scene hiding in bushes. He was wearing only boxer shorts and appeared highly intoxicated, although he refused a preliminary breath test.

A LEIN search showed that the suspect’s driver’s license was suspended multiple times, including an arrest for OWI. In addition, investigators found a .45 semi-automatic handgun in the Jeep, and the man did not have a concealed weapon permit.
