This morning it’s Taleggio cheese and thick cream sauce with a little garlic and some gnocchi toss ed in, with the remainder tossed in with some tagliatelle paste and some sauteed shitake mushrooms.

You know, I like most of the food you post, but this one is really speaking to me. Gnocchi might be one of my all time favorites. I assume 5am is probably too early for some pasta, huh?

Nah!
Well it was 7am when I made mine, but I work nights so I class it as my evening (even if the world doesn’t [family, post office, etc..., I’m looking at you, Grrr]).

oh well... seeing shitake mushrooms up there made me think i should have another go at making stuffed portobello mushrooms later.... i failed last time

burnt the shrooms... turns out they dont need much time on the grill at all..... also made a very saucy filler wich just went everywhere.... lessons learnt lol

Ah yes, that’ll do it.
Yes, they don’t need much time really. Too much sauce can get messy unless you’ve someth ing to soak it up with like bruschetta, focaccia or or small bits on garlic bread. You can make a little platform for the mushrooms to sit on with the bread.
Try and blot as much of the moisture from the ingredients before mixing together as m ushrooms tend to give off quite a bit of moisture for their size when cooking.

cheers :) will be keeping that in mind when i try sometime this weekend
(the family wasnt overly keen on the idea for dinner today...soo looks like it will be a lunchtime thing for me instead)

Just have fun with it.

roger wilco... i do love me some foodsperiments :)
i shall probably create a monster tomorow... for today i guess ill go for the breakfast of champions (beer) whilst i think of what to make for tea
