Yes, it’s fake. I don’t have a source handy , but I’ve definitely searched it out before and apparently it was a (very well done) April Fools joke.

Definitely an April Fools article but I can see it happening. Would definitely not look that official, though . And t hose power lines most definitely would not get you anywhere near “where you want to go”, but it could be fun to have the option of hopping on and off, as many Muni buses automatically do. Even the fully electric ones often fall off and the driver has to get out and reattach them to the lines. I wager it’s also already illegal. Would just be somebody’s little pet experiment, and I’m sure San Francisco still has it in it to produce it.
