I’m enjoying my front porch today also. Got a beer and my doggo. All set.

This seems to be a reoccuring situation for you, maybe its time to invest in some better porch furniture?

Book: Generation Kill , read about half of it yesterday. Read it years ago when it came out, but I re- watched the mini series recently and read a book one of the lieutenants in the outfit the reporter was embedded with.

Generation Kill is the most accurate thing I’ve ever read about the Marine Corps and how it actually works (or doesn’t, as the case may be). I know a person or two mentioned in it. Good call reading One Bullet Away by the Lt. to go with it.

I rewatched the Generation Kill mini-series in mid-July. I had a 9 hour layover in ATL after my flight back from Costa Rica, so I put a couple books on my iPad; one of them was One Bullet Away. Spent a decent amount of time reading that while in the airport. Really good read. Figured that I might as well reread Generation Kill as well. Been a big fan of military history since I was a child, and these books are easy to read, since there’s no looking for some hidden meaning, what’s written is what’s going on.
