N o, I didn’t murder anyone. Sophie had a minor mishap with a toenail yesterday and tracked little dots of blood everywhere. She’s fine and not even limping today, just her happy self. She’s due for a rabies shot this week so I’ll have the vet check it out, but there’s no swelling  so I think she'll be fine.

I’ve wet’n’dry vacuum so it spray the area, agitate it with a stiff nylon brush and wet vacuum it up.

You can use a regular vacuum as the amount of water y ou’ll be vacuuming up is minimal.

If it’s light colored carpet hydrogen perixide  will take it right out.

Seltzer water and lemon for blood, or just buy red carpets.

We have a carpet cleaner, so we’ll probably bring that out later on. I just don’t want it to stain too bad.

I think this might help us replace it faster. We want to replace it with wood or composite flooring.

She’s stopped bleeding, so I don’t think we need to go to the extreme of red carpets. I’ll try th e other two first.

Carpet cleaners are great.

My wet vacuum is a godsend. £30 Karcher wet vacuum. Makes cleaning car interiors and stains a doddle.

I’ve used hydrogen peroxide and a stiff brush on floor mats with good results. It should work on carpet too. I’d try it either in a closet or under furniture first to make sure it doesn’t cause discoloration.

Next time you “don’t murder someone” take a tip from Dexter and plastic cover the whole room.

I’m glad to hear the cute puppers is well.

A generic carpet cleaning detergent with some hydrogen peroxide will work. The peroxide will bleach out the blood stains without damaging the carpet.

if you get enough blood on the carpets, you won’t even notice what the dog left behind.
