Oppo I Need Help!

So. I currently have a 2015 Colorado as my daily. It’s fine. But I honestly don’t need a truck now. I started doing some early looking into a replacement, but now I’ve hit a snag.

I found a small car that I enjoy. However, I now found that for 2019 it’s no longer available with a manual, which is one of the reasons I like it. I called my dealer friend and there’s 5 2018s in the country, which is why I’m being vague about what I’m looking at exactly... if you’re one of the people I’ve told, please don’t spoil it.

Am I crazy trying to pick from 5 cars, the closest being 900 miles away? I’ve ordered most of my cars before, so not seeing it doesn’t scare me, but I’m most likely going to have to compromise something. My dealer contact was working o n a value for my truck for trade in, and didn’t get me the details for the 5 cars yet.

Should I just get a 2019 with more features, except for the automatic transmission? Or hopefully find one of the 5 cars to be something I want?

Depends. Sounds like you have a choice

Choose manual or not. Only you can assign value to your options.

Which is basically what you are asking, how much value YOU put on a manual over other considerations

I’d choose used over new if it meant getting more of my want list, but those are my priorities.

What I mean is buying is a compromise: The goal is to get the highest amount of wants and needs that matter most to you . If you want a 2018 configuration more than you want an easy buying experience or features... Then you have your answer.

Not if those things matter to you. I say no but that’s me. You add wheels and even a sunroof easier than adding a transmission.

If it’s GM, it’s a GM trans. If it’s FCA, it’s the ZF 9-speed.

I saw a post somewhere the other day lamenting the fact that the Cruze was losing the manual for 2019. It fit the description you gave (plus your track record of GM cars) so I just took a guess.

You can still get a Golf with a manual and sunroof. Having driven cross country in both, it’s a better car by miles.

Get exactly what you want assuming one of the 5 left meet your criteria. Otherwise, you’ll regret not getting what you wanted ( potentially for years) . That’s not fun, and it could make you c hange vehicles sooner than you would have, and changing vwhicles costs a lot of money when you buy new AND also trade in your old vehicle.

There’s not a lot of options, so it comes down to color. I know one of the 5 is my last choice color, so hopefully the other 4 are better...
