That’s a bunch of carriers in one place, even if one is a museum.

Things to Do While In California

Don’t get scared about hurricanes

Get scared about fires and earthquakes

Raise your palate standards by eating at In ‘N Out.

Eat actual street tacos on the street.

Put avocado on everything.

Drive on the PCH and marvel at the rich beautiful people in Malibu

Go Fail at surfing and snowboarding on the same day

Think about moving to SoCal, then cry as you realize you have to bankrupt your future just to afford rent

Definitely hop on Turo and try to rent something sweet, even if it is just for an afternoon. There are a ton of fun roads down in San Diego even without having to travel too far. I was on travel to San Diego once for work and just went for a drive a bit East and had a great time in my rental Hyundai Accent. I am sure it would be a blast in something actually worth driving.

Of course I know roads way better up here in the LA area but dont try and do that in a day trip, otherwise the traffic might literally kill you lol. San Diego is probably one of my favorite places in the world.

There is some FAR better food in SD than In n Out lol. Better burgers for sure too. I love the food scene in that city.

Excellent road is highway 94 the goes from the Southbay to East County. Go down to Chula Vista Eastlake, about 20 minutes south of where you are, beautiful lake and an area that is well known for sky jumping.

Great 2 lane road for 50 miles in one direction. Go on weekday to avoid slow traffic, so much fun in a fast car or motorcycle.

If you’re interested in going, let me know and I’ll send you the details to get there. It’s a hundred miles of fun canyon road with great scenery there and back.

Here is a video of about the beginning 1/3rd of the route, it’s kinda boring but you get the idea, the actually canyon road starts at about 1 minute in.

Yeah, but In-N-Out is so consistent and high quality. You simply can’t beat it at the price point. I recommend ones in the ghetto because they’re even better - go to the one in Lemon Grove, not the one down near the Sports Arena (closest to downtown), Pacific Beach, or Mission Valley. Oddly, outside of gourmet burgers (Burger Lounge), I think Los Angeles actually has far better burger shacks.

Also, this list really only applies to Southern California. The Bay Area ruins all food as far as I’ve seen.

Well yeah In n Out is a must for a first timer. And yeah I still go there from time to time just because it is damn good. SOOO much better than stopping in at a mcdonalds or some bullshit while on a road trip. Ive pretty much made it a tradition to stop at in n out while on the way home from a track day and get a double double with a chocolate shake.

The tend to mostly only have newer stuff on Turo. I have seen a few classics at absurd prices but there are probably better services out there for that. I wish Turo was managed better though, it really has the potential to be as big as Airbnb but its kind of a mess sometimes.
