This photo was taken by !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and it shows the cars of Nissan’s design staff in the UK. I see a lot of great cars peeking out from this shot but which would you most like to have? The Mustang is a close second but I’d have to have that BMW E9.

I see zero wrong choices, but I’ll go with the fastback.
(wait no, I definitely wouldn’t want the DeLorean, and the modern stang does little for me... anything else tho...)

They’re all coupes?! I know a lot of Designers and no one’s office parking lot is that cool. Nissan Designers, such good taste. Nissan management, such bad choices.

Maybe if they did some of the design staff would drive some of their own designs from this millennium .

There’s not a bad car in that shot, and yet they still design crap...

Yes it is! Been on this site for nearly 10 years and you are the first to notice. Their skull guy is named “Digger” and I’m pretty into DH mountain biking.

Right? Makes me feel bad for the designers because clearly they know good design but are likely hamstrung from above.

Most like to have and most like to drive are two different things.
For driving, either that car that I think is an Audi, the new Mustang or the yellow car next to the blue BMW would be my top picks.
But to merely have it, then the nod goes to the old Mustang in the foreground, the Delorean and probably that red car which looks like a BMW 2002.
The fact is, newer cars are better for driving most of the time... with a few exceptions.

Poor bastards. Probably crank out all sorts of interesting designs that get rejected.
Designer: Hey, look at this beautiful new design! It’s sure to sell a million cars.
Bean counter: But it’s not jellybean shaped with useless odd angles tacked onto it . And the wheels are not silver and black. Back to the drawing board for you.
Designer: Whatever you want. [Buys new exhaust for own cool car and laments the demise of the auto industry].

We’ve had legally importable R32s in the US for 4 years now. The car to the left of the R32, however, looks like an S15, which is indeed forbidden fruit for about 5 more years.

very true, but the risk factor in buying either of these is astronomical.
paying over 20k for the r32 (idk what an s15 runs for, I try not to tease myself with cars I can’t own, looking at you gc8 sti) you have to buy unseen, chances are you don’t have a buddy that can check on the car, there’s probably a language barrier, and you have to hope that after months and months of waiting, it will show up.

You don’t necessarily have to buy one sight unseen. There are importers that bring them over to the US and sell them here, though they do mark the prices up a bit. Also there are a few English-speaking businesses on the Japan side that are reputable. Pacific Coast Auto, Brave Auto, Amagaski Motor, to name three.

1. Alfa, 2. BMW, 3. Lotus, 4. Mustang (the old one), 4. Porsche. The rest is, compared to the first four, relatively meh.
