Good point, but I wouldn’t want to deal with the potential maintenance issues there. Especially since the 4.2 is plenty powerful and quite reliable and easy to work on in applications where it has a timing belt and facing the right way.

Yep, the W12 was the engine for people who were just too bored with the V10 tdi and thought it might be just a wee bit too reliable and predictable.
