"E90M3" (e90m3)

!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! has the right options, low miles, appears to be in really good condition, but it’s the wrong year. I t’s let down by the fact it’s a pre-LCI model (Sorry Davesaddiction).
Also, I noticed that in addition to sporting the 2008 tail lights, it’s also got an E46 M3 badge. Not that it affects anything, I just notice things like that.
Thinking this one is going to go somewhere between 27-29k. If this was even one year newer, I’d probably tack at least 4-5k on that estimate . Guess I’ll follow the auction and see if I was indeed correct.

If I could find a set for cheap. I’ve also got less than 2k on my brand new tires.

I just can’t get into those pre LCI taillights. They make the car look smaller and cheaper

They’re not as bad with white, but really look bad with darker colors.

The price is right on the E9X market, trying to get some friends into them who are too squeamish for an E46M. No doubt these will hold value well in MT and good color combos.

LCI cars with 6MTs are going to hold their value, since, you know, last N/A M car.

Ashamed to say I have never driven one, might need to remedy that on the next slow weekend. I have s ampled the E46 M3, E86 Z4M and E87 1M - a tall set of peers.

Only one of those I’ve driven is the 1M, it was pretty great, but the engine isn’t as special as the one in my M3. I need to drive some older M cars.

I think its the opposite of the “right spec” according to enthusiasts (Which is something I completely disagree with).
“True Enthusiasts” want the LCI, nasty cloth, non- iDrive poverty spec radio, no sunroof.
That though is specced nicely.

Since an ‘08 was all I could afford at the time, I only considered white or silver.

Gotta love the comment thread on this one. Nice car - the seller might hold the price down a bit on this one...

You’re not wrong... the rear of the E90 pre-LCI always remind me of the Daewoo Lanos.

I didn’tknow it had red seats. Mmm I would trade LED tailights for red seats.

Yeah I forgot about the rod bearings, well everyone wanting proof they’re done or an oil analysis. It’s one thing I never thought about when I got mine.

That’s fair enough, it’s not like you ended up with a bad one.

Yeah, but very few bought those cars to begin with. I mean, if I had money to buy it new, I would’ve gotten a car very similar to mine.

Yeah, I cant imagine who would want their 70k car with cloth.

I specifically shunned cloth on my search, although, I’d probably be open to it now.

I can't see myself going for the cloth, I like red leather way too much.

Seems like the seller is clueless and even a bit testy on top of that. Nothing on the rod bearings and the discussion on the exhaust system is both priceless and a little infuriating.

could you get US spec ones with cloth?
I love the cloth seats in my e30, they’re fucking amazing. Not sure I would ever get them in a DD though (wear too bad), and sure as shit wouldn’t let my kids in there

There’s not really a “bad one” with this engine on board, even the ones with 450 lb boat anchors from the factory. =)

I even thought about an 08, since they were cheaper. I really didn’t want to spend more than ~45k on the car, including tax. Couldn’t find one I liked for that price though, so I spent more than I would have liked to, but I ended up with almost exactly what I wanted.

Well, I’d told myself my budget for a car at the time was 30 and I ended up paying 40 for mine, so... ha! The newer iDrive is the real benefit, I think, and you don’t have to worry about replacing the flywheel when your clutch goes.

I was 24 when I got mine. It was also the first car I bought. I didn’t really do my research when it came time to buy but, I also knew I could afford any maintenance bill that was thrown at me. Didn’t negotiate at all, it was exactly what I wanted, latest model year and I could afford it. I paid 50 for mine. I considered getting a 1M or an E30 M3 instead, knowing both would appreciate , but since I was 14 I wanted a 4 door M car. I also knew I would probably never have another chance to get a one owner M3 with 15k on it. So, I pulled the trigger and got mine. Couldn’t be happier. If I had to do it again, I would have probably held out for one with a comp package. Since the more time I waited, the more I would have to put down.

You did it right. Nothing stopping you from getting that white Comp Package one now... =) They’re probably never going to get any cheaper.

Yeah, that’s kind of the way I feel about mine. Any other one would be an unknown quantity, however... it’s possible that mine will be up for quite a few expensive repairs soon (needs valve cover gaskets soon , clutch will go at some point I assume , TAs will go at some point I assume , how long will I risk not replacing RBs?, suspension’s showing its age), so it may actually make more sense to just sell it as is and replace with a newer one with half the miles. Since I’ve got my Tacoma now and won’t be putting as many miles on my car any more, what I’m probably going to do is keep it for at least another 5 years until my oldest is driving. Might be able to make a really impractical car purchase at that point. =)
