Now thats a broad sweeping statement. What are the alternatives   to an   American V8 muscle/ pony car? ( honestly the new camaro and Mustang are world class sports cars now IMO ) At that price range?

I saw a 2010 Camaro up close and personal a few days ago. I was baffled by home much I couldn’t see. The dash is too tall, the roof is too low, the A  pillars are made of The Rock’s biceps. It’s shit

There’s not much to understand, they’re sports cars with fabled American names. The Mustang is one of the icons of Americana, up there with Apple Pie and the bald eagle.

The new Mustang is pretty sweet and I’ve never been a muscle car guy. Even Europe seems to agree, where some months it’s the top-selling sports car.

Yeah, I know it’s a broad stroke. But I’ve dri ven two out of three, and hated both. I don’t understand the appeal at all.

They’re two door pickup trucks with the same ricer astethics (cartoonish styling with no function) the owners bemoan on a different application.

The visibility is almost as bad as the Camaro (almost), but the Challenger makes up for it with added functionality (cavernous trunk that you can actually use, because the opening is also large, and a useable back seat that holds three instead of two)  and more standard kit for the price.

TFW when a camaro beat out an m4 and cost almost half the price. They are affordable (and reliable) sports cars. AMG , M/, and S are all very fast. I ts just those good old American boys are just faster now. For half the price.

D on’t believe me compare zl1 1le Nur time. Look at the names it beat. Yeah it might be brute force over finesse but some people prefer it. Literally the only reason why the Hellcat exist.

I wouldn’t even consider AM G’s and / /M’s to be graceful. They get their times the same way muscle cars do, fat sticky tires and lots of power.

Hot take, the mustang refresh is uglier than the 2015. As the Camaro always competes with the Mustang, GM made their 2018 (19?) uglier than the previous version.

Another hot take, the Camaro zl1 convertible  is better looking than the mustang convertible, save for the speedkore treated mustang.

True but it used to be finesse with the older e36, e46, and e90 m3s and used to be held as Muscle Cars that can take a turn. Now Muscle (other than FCA) can do both.

And   maybe he considering the answer (miata) as the holy grail. Which I can understand but that gets old and people want more than 180 hp.

Yep, anecdotally about 3-to-1, which is about the same proportion I see on the road . I guess you’re implying the Ecoboost is not a muscle car, but with moderate tuning the numbers are pretty stunning (circa 400bhp). I’m coming around to it, especially when everybody and their brother is shoving 4-cylinder turbos into everything.

Well when you are straight throwing shade at a category you are going to get shade back. Your take, while its your opinion, straight makes it seem millions have bought “trash” cars. Which is bullshit (already shown why they arent “trash” and can keep going if you would like )

E ven so as your opinion you can believe the cars are bad but t hats you , not experts, not pros, and certainly not the people who have some sort of feeling for a M ustang, Challenger, or Camaro. Whether it be nostalgia , performance, or style there is a reason other people like the category.  

All i am saying is you can dislike something without being a dick about it. A t least be open to why people like the segment, even though you still might not agree which again is fine.
