Both of these are Toyota J120 trucks. They were assembled side by side in Japan, but one of these is “tough and active” looking, and the other is actually a pleasure to see out of and drive. I kinda wish the Prado would just replace the 4runner, but I know why it wouldn’t.

Fun fact, the “ L” badges aren’t actually for the brand Lexus but it’s instead the first letter of the company slogan: “ Look upon your betters and weep, peasants”.

It’s funny though. I wouldn’t call the Prado exactly modern, in either style or substance. The 4runner I feel actually own s it’s anachronism a little more honestly.

True. Toyota is clever that way. But the current Prado does have a newer platform...and has benefited from R&D.

They are both on the same platform. The 5th Gen 4runner is a j150 same as the current Prado . It’s just the 4runner gets a less useful body and interior and so/ so powertrain

Its what 9 years now into the 5 th gen? The only thing that is older is the Chrysler LX platform. Even so the TRD Pro imo still is better looking than the Prado

There’s a non-nav GX470 for sale local to me. I have no need for such a vehicle but I find myself with unexplainable levels of WANT just so I can change that damn stereo and put a newer double din unit in it!
