Completely forgot these existed (yes, it was from my car, and yes, I was stopped at the light) . More amazed that it was the second one I saw yesterday (couldn’t safely get a picture of the first one, but it was a tan LT model as well).  Felt pretty good about myself that I remembered the name before I could read it. Not sure if that is something I should be proud of, but I am.

Also, my sister was looking at Federal land for sale in Texas (I’m looking at potentially buying some with my family as a getaway ranch) . She sent me a link to a lot west of San Antonio. Further away than we would want, but we both immediately looked at this picture - can you ID? I got close within the first 5 seconds, but my brother in law got closer after a couple of minutes.

The forlorn car in the bushes is a XJ40 XJ6/XJ 12 , model years 1988-94. Kind of a natural resting spot for one.

I actually saw an immaculate one this morning, driving under its own power, one of the fancier ones with composite lights and bigger wheels.

Yep.  I think ID’ing that car may have been the most productive thing I did at work Friday afternoon...

They are actually high utility, comfortable vans. The beam rear axle, 3.9 liter motor and 4 spd transmission make them excellent for towing.

This was the couple years before the Great Recession when everyone (well, GM)  decided to make minivans look sort of like SUVs. Not a lot of people went for it.

Oh man, I remember those uplanders. The Marine Corps always had a bunch of those around for govies... They would be way up there for the least interesting vehicle I’ve ever driven. Everything about them was just so... bland. They were offensively uninteresting. Jason Torchinsky’s Meh C ar M onday about them was spot on.

And I saw another this afternoon!  The last one was an LS though.
