yup, could be worse. hills require down shifting, but it rolls on the flat just fine and gets up to speed (all 30KPH of it) without much more lag than is inherent in a large-ish displacement low-pressure turbo- diesel and a tractor transaxle.

~160 ft/ lb from 8 00 to 15 00 RPM, ~22 0 from 1500 to 20 00, falls off a bit to about 200 between 2000-2300, then it tails off a bit more down to a round 170 again at red line (2500 RPM)
